Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most rare of all pop artists: one who was able to effortlessly bridge the gap between pop and country, conquering the globe. Swift removed the influences of country like they were an extra layer of skin and revealed she was among the most talented singers/songwriters in her generation. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use it to her advantage. Swift's early tracks like the Neotribute in tribute to Tim McGraw were a testament of her ability. The second album Fearless of 2008 proved to be an songwriter discovering her voice, and also a larger fan base. Fearless became a massive success not just in America, where six of its singles were certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across the globe. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this achievement and propelled Swift to the heights of fame. Her popularity only increased with her following three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014) as well as Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 and saw her move confidently into the realm of pop in which she was already a part. While she reduced the production of her folklore album, and Evermore releases in 2020 she was still leading the way in pop music.
