Kelly Clarkson is an American singer and songwriter who became the nation's sweetheart after winning the American Idol title in the first season of the competition. The singer was not just an instant star following her win, but she also was signed to a recording contract by RCA Records 19 Recordings & S Records for a variety of albums. Since then she's released an array of studio albums. In these albums that were released, three made the US Billboard 200 Chart while others were only a two centimeters off. She's one of the most popular artists who are emerging from American Idol. She experimented as she gained recognition for her various themes and musical styles. She often composed lyrics of her own. Her uniqueness and vocal abilities earned her critical praise, as well a few prestigious distinctions. Most notably she has won the Grammy Award three times. Alongside her music career, she also has performed on television as well as in films. She is also the author of the book for kids River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and is involved in several charities.
