Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a native of New Zealand, born in Wellington however was born and bred in Winnipeg made her acting d but on screen in The Piano. At age 11, she became an infant Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 in 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for acting as the bright and interesting daughter of Holly Hunter's main character in The Piano. When she answered an open call for auditions to play the character, she got it in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a mute Scottish piano player who moved from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. It was her first role at the age of nine and had no acting experience. In her teens, she moved to the United States. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played an important role as a lead character in Fly Away Home, a film from the same year.
