Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. She was born and raised in California USA she started her modeling profession in Italy. In 1996, she made her debut as an actress in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land a part for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was very intense. It was a difficult transition for Amy because she had change from modeling to acting. Models aren't regarded as the best actors so they tend to get smaller, insignificant roles. Amy did not give up. She worked her way up into bigger roles, beginning in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. The romantic comedy Just Friends, which also included Ryan Reynolds, saw her perform larger role. It was a huge commercial success, and Amy had finally found the fame she had been trying for for more than 10 years. The actress continued to appear in significant films, like Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was a beloved as a recurring role.
